Ready to start prepping for the upcoming school year? Many teachers LOVE planning everything back to school. All the classroom decor and teacher supplies are FUN to prep. But what about curriculum? What about writing? Writing is an area that can be hard to plan for many teachers. Have no fear though! Lucky Little Learners has you covered with over twenty writing centers for second grade to spice up your writer’s workshop.

Benefits & Features of the Writing Centers

The writing centers bundle is one-fourth of a larger 2nd Grade Literacy Centers Bundle. These centers cover a wide variety of topics and writing standards for 2nd grade. They come in printable and digital formats, so can easily fit into a technology (or distance learning) station.

How to Use the Writing Centers

These centers are perfect for whole group, small group, or independent stations. (Or even for one-on-one differentiated, intensive instruction.)

These centers are organized by standards, rather than by seasonal themes. This allows for use all times of the year to best fit any curriculum.

Whole & Small Group Ideas:

  • Use a center as a whole group “game”: Project an activity under a document camera, played up front in “circle time” fashion, or used online in the digital format. Introduce the centers with this format!
  • Around the Room: Display the task cards of a selected center around the room and have students hunt for them! Students will be super engaged!
