Mother's Day is one of those holidays that sneaks up on teachers every year! If you have been searching for an easy project to send home to the special ladies in your students' lives, you are in the right place! Let's take a step-by-step look at the Mother's Day Book that will be treasured for years to come.
Mother's Day Book
What do moms appreciate more than homemade gifts from their child? Homemade gifts that include art and writing! This Mother's Day Book has it all, and is easy to complete. Use the step-by-step directions below as a guide to helping your students complete this sentimental keepsake.
1- Print
Head to All Access to download the booklet, or purchase it through the Spring Pack. (Which also includes 40 other activities!)
Get the “All About My Mom” booklet and LOADS more in the Spring Pack:
Special Offer
Printing and copying off this booklet is half the job with two copies per page! Cut them in half for the next step.
2- Assemble
This step can be done before or after students complete the booklet pages. I prefer to assemble the booklets before they start working on the pages to eliminate the, “I lost that page” situation.
To assemble, take a piece of construction paper and fold in the “hamburger”way.
Then, staple in all the pages (except the cover).
Glue the cover on the front.
3- Mother's Day Book Work Time
Have students get to work on the pages. It may be helpful to have a word bank on the board. Add multisyllabic words as students ask how to spell them. Sound out the smaller words as a class. (If they are heart words, use this teachable moment!)
Bonus Idea: 3D Paper Flowers
If your students want to hand mom her booklet and flowers, try these 3D flowers!
