Non Profit Organization

WHO THEY ARE

BioGirls is a nonprofit helping girls in grades 2-6 build confidence and self-esteem. The program focuses on four key areas: Mental Wellness, Healthy Relationships, Leadership, and Kindness. Girls take part in fun, non-competitive activities where they learn important life skills like setting goals, managing stress, and helping others. Together with caring mentors, they discover their own unique worth and learn tools to face life’s challenges with confidence.

WHY WE GIVE

Angie chose to be a mentor with the BioGirls program because she believes in the importance of giving back to her community and the youth.  Having a daughter herself, Angie sees the impact that society has on young girls.  She feels it’s important that our girls receive healthy guidance to learn how to deal with stress and have positive self confidence.

HOW WE GIVE

Angie attends weekly 90-minute sessions with a group of 2nd grade girls every Wednesday.  During this time she leads her group through a reflection, teaches a life skills lesson, does some small group mentoring, and guides her students through a yoga flow at the end of the session.
