Introducing…Buddy the Elf!

Christmas, Holidays, Seasonal, Winter

Written by: Angie Olson

The elves have come to 2nd grade at Frazee-Vergas Elementary!  Our elf arrived right after Thanksgiving break and has been a hit since the day he arrived!  My kiddos from last year named the elf Buddy and so the name has stuck and Buddy has decided to return for another year of mischief and pranks.

On his first day in our classroom he arrived with a letter to my class explaining that he is only here to stay for a few weeks.  He also stated that every night he flies home to report to Santa about the choices that are made throughout the day by my 2nd graders.  When the kids aren’t in the room, Buddy moves around the room doing a variety of crazy things!  Here are a few pictures…

Buddy loves to play games!  The checker game lasted an entire day and every time the kids came back to the room for a specialist/recess/lunch/etc, the game had been played out a little more!

Our 2nd grade friends next door found their elf flying in a toy helicopter…too funny what these elves think of!

Buddy was pretty excited about our Christmas tree…so excited that he dove right in and got stuck in one of the loops!  Thank you to Kayla over at Top Dog Teaching for the Christmas tree idea!

My kids have been working hard on learning abbreviations so Buddy decided to hang out on our reading focus wall for awhile to emphasize this skill.

 Can you find him?

Buddy jumped into the “Caught being Good” brag tag drawer.  My kids thought it was funny that he went in this particular drawer since he has been so mischievous!

Sorry about the picture quality on this one but I didn’t have my camera on this day so I had to take the picture with my phone.  Here is Buddy hanging out on our behavior chart.  He even made his own clip and placed it at the top of the chart!  Ha!  Ha!  What does your classroom elf do in your room?
